Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a condition usually thought of in relation to soldiers and the wider defence community that have returned from operational duty overseas. It is also synonymous with the service provided by emergency services personnel.

The fact is, however, that anybody who has been witness or subject to violent or traumatic events may be susceptible to PTSD.

Unfortunately for those suffering under the weight of symptoms associated with PTSD, it can be difficult to know where to turn for help.

There are a number of non profit organisations that seek to provide the support needed and referral to further care whenever cases are brought to their attention.

As with anything, it is money that limits what they can do.

We are going to walk from Chelsea, in Melbourne’s bayside, following the beach all the way around to Port Melbourne and then turn in towards the city and finishing on the banks of the Yarra River at Southbank.

All up the walk will total 40 kilometres.

To help us support sufferers of PTSD we would be absolutely chuffed if people would in turn support us by donating money towards this cause.

Last year we raised $1822.

Accordingly, we are aiming to beat that amount this year.

All money raised will be forwarded directly to Soldier On to help them continue their outstanding work helping ADF members in need of urgent intervention, support and healing.
